The Macan scored maximum points for its protection of the 1½ and 3 year infants in the crash tests, based on dummy readings. In the frontal impact, forward movement of the head of the 3 year dummy, sat in a forward-facing restraint, was not excessive and chest and neck loads were well controlled. In the side impact, both dummies were properly contained within the protective shells of their restraints, minimising the likelihood of head contact with parts of the vehicle interior. The front passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward-facing restraint to be used in that seating position. Clear information is provided to the driver regarding the status of the airbag and the system was rewarded. All of the child restraints for which the car is designed can be properly installed and accommodated in the Macan.

The bumper scored maximum points for its protection of pedestrians' legs, with good results in all areas tested. However, the front edge of the bonnet scored no points, with poor protection being provided. The protection offered to a pedestrian's head by the surface of the bonnet ranged from marginal at the outside edges to good in the central region. Poor results were recorded at the bottom of the windscreen and on the stiff windscreen pillars.

Electronic stability control is standard equipment on the Macan, as is a seatbelt reminder covering the front and rear seats. A driver-set speed limitation system is standard equipment and this can be supplemented by an optional speed limit information function. The latter is available as a map-based system, which is expected to be fitted to most cars sold and was included in the assessment. A map and camera-based system as well as a forward-collision warning system is an option and is not expected to be on most vehicles so was not included in the assessment. A lane departure warning system is standard equipment.

The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact. Dummy readings showed good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. Porsche demonstrated that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those sat in different positions. The Macan scored maximum points in the side barrier test, with good protection of all critical body regions. In the more severe side pole impact, protection of the head and pelvis was good and that of the chest and abdomen was adequate. Tests indicated that the seats and head restraints provided good protection against whiplash injuries to the occupants of the front and rear seats.
