In the frontal impact, forward movement of the 3 year dummy, sat in a forward-facing restraint, was not excessive. However, the forces in the 3 year dummy's neck were higher than recommended values and chest decelerations of both dummies were marginal. In the side barrier test, both dummies were properly contained within the protective shells of their restraints, minimising the likelihood of head contact with parts of the vehicle interior. The front passenger airbag can be disabled to allow a rearward-facing child restraint to be used in that seating position. Clear information is provided to the driver about the status of the airbag and the system was rewarded. The risks of using a rearward-facing seat in the front passenger seat without first disabling the airbag are clearly indicated in the car. All of the child restraint types for which the car is designed could be properly installed and accommodated.

The bumper scored maximum points for the protection provided to pedestrians' legs. The protection provided by the front edge of the bonnet was also predominantly good. The bonnet surface showed adequate protection over most of its surface, with poor results recorded along the base of windscreen and on the stiff windscreen pillars.

The passenger compartment remained stable in the frontal impact. Dummy readings indicated good protection of the knees and femurs of the driver and passenger. Peugeot showed that a similar level of protection would be provided to occupants of different sizes and to those in different positions. In the side barrier test, the 308 scored maximum points with good protection of all body regions. In the more severe side pole impact, dummy readings of rib compression indicated a marginal level of chest protection. The front seats and head restraints provided good protection against whiplash injury in the event of a rear-end collision.
